About the Artist:

Lauren Soffe currently works and resides in Cottonwood Heights, UT. She earned her BFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2008, having studied several mediums including mixed media, painting, drawing, and photography. As she continued her artistic exploration she began to incorporate traditional techniques of cross stitching and embroidery. Her work is a way of transforming lived experience into visual form. Time spent developing concepts, manipulating materials and executing ideas is a process that allows for personal healing and growth.

(Artist Statement): This series titled "Going Back to Move Forward" speaks to the intentional unraveling and reconstructing that happens when navigating a personal and intense transition.
